Vicki's Story
After retiring in 2013, Ernie and I moved to Las Vegas. Formerly, I worked as a medical editor / regulatory specialist at LBR Regulatory in Florence. Prior to this, I worked as a legal secretary / paralegal for several years at Dinsmore & Shohl in Cincinnati doing breast implant litigation for Dow Corning. One of the attorneys asked me to leave with him and take a position as a medical editor at Kendle International. His wife was Kendle's VP of Regulatory; she eventually left Kendle with just me and another statistician to begin the regulatory business from which I retired. We decided to leave Vegas since water rationing looks like a real possibility in 2020. We were fortunate to sell our beautiful home in Vegas for more than the asking price and built a new house in Union, KY. I really miss the desert so we'll just have to visit as much as possible.

m our oldest son whose wife is a child psychologist. They live near the Poconos in northeastern Pennsylvania. My youngest son has never married and bought our house in Villa Hills (his childhood home). We enjoy traveling and took a trip to Australia and New Zealand in February and March 2020. We were fortunate to get back in the States just before everything shut down for COVID. Ernie is still suffering from long COVID with anxiety along with smell and taste issues after over two years. We took another trip to Bora Bora in February 2024. We stayed in an overwater bungalow; it was like heaven on earth, but Ernie got a terrible sunburn. It was strange seeing fish swimming under the glass bottoms in the bungalow. We are planning a short trip to Reno the end of August and a big trip to South America and Antarctica in February 2025. We always visit Vegas a couple of times every year in between our big trips.
